Paine

Yeah fcc.

Filling the media with derogatory lies to further polarize the country and inflame the populace.

Delightful!

The Dems plan!? How about anything but "stay the course"!

csm

Not surprised that a rabid idiot like fcc would find Coulter and Limbaugh delightful... On the other hand, I think it would be delightful if someone would rip off your head, fcc, and then shit down your neck hole... (or is that too mean to be delightful? Maybe I should go pick on someone with Parkinson's disease, would you find that more delightful?)

It will, indeed, be interesting to see what the Dems do with their majority. Will they lie and steal and block out the minority like the Reps did? My bet is that they won't. Of course, can't say that I see a plan yet (probably because there isn't one... Dems won not because the country loves them but that the country hated the liars and thieves across the aisle more)

Mike

In this case Paine sould be spelled Pain?

fcc

"I think it would be delightful if someone would rip off your head, fcc, and then shit down your neck hole... (or is that too mean to be delightful?"

LOL, now that is funny. CSM, you remind me of the squanny little nerd in Jr. High who would call names and then run before the victim pounded his ass in the ground. They never do change, do they CSM?

Last check, Coulter is selling more books than CSM. Probably because she is a smart self-promoter and as well she does have good points to make. The nasty side is what keeps her in the news and making money and separates herself from everyone else. The Dems are bothered by her, but not Mike Moore, Soros and the now bankrupt Air America. Of course, to be expected. I found Air America to be quite delightful as well. She appreciates your hate and the attention you provide her. A very bright women, like Rush and O'Reilly.

csm

Do you know that Coulter is selling more books than me? You don't even know who I am.

And even if Coulter is selling more books it is completely irrlevant. She is a liar. But that is becoming very common these days. People are becoming desensitized to it. When W can state that Rumsfeld will stay throughout 2008, then accept a "resignation" stating that it had been in the works even before the election results, and the media just lets him ride with such outrageous lies (one or the other HAS to be a lie, both actually could be though).

You see, to me, calling someone a fucking idiot or using shitting down their neck hole as a comparitive is nowhere near as offensive as outrageous lies - spoken by our leaders no less - and with no shame at all.

Bob

I find curious the attitude that many conservatives seem to have toward folk such as Limbaugh and Coulter. If a liberal gets offended at what these people say about them, then the conservative will opine "Why so sensitive? It's just humor." But if the liberal passes it off as fiction and grandstanding then the conservative will suddenly defend the veracity and incisiveness of the commentary.

Bev

Al Franken has sold more books than AC.
Michael Moore has sold more movies than AC.
Hey, George Soros is one of the richest guys in the entire world -- self-made kajillionaire who funds a foundation that promotes open societies around the world.
And, lo and behold, none of them are facing potential felony charges in FL for fraudulent voting.

What's to be bothered by?

Bob, someone reminds me of the the little idiot who posts here and hasn't out-grown jr. high.
He never do changes.

csm, Bush apologists LOVE liars.
They worship at the feet of their Idol... the Liar-in-Chief.

Bev

And speaking of books...
Happy Birthday, Kurt Vonnegut!

Gene

"But if the liberal passes it off as fiction and grandstanding then the conservative will suddenly defend the veracity and incisiveness of the commentary."

Have you even listend to Air America Bob? By your comments, obviously not. I've never heard such filth and attacks from one group of people in my life.

CSM,

I can say with a great deal of reason, Ann is selling more books than you. Ann has also been cleared of voting in the wrong location. It was no big deal.

Bev,

Actually Michael Moore is under a lawsuit for using a soldier in his wonderful documentary without permission. Painting him as ant-Bush and anti-war. Slander I believe may be the word. Sorry to burst the bubble. MM, Franken & Soros have sold more books? I'ld like to see those numbers, I don't buy it. I know for a fact O'Reilly has crushed them all.

Cowcharge

"Breaking news --
We just won the Senate too."

Would that be "you" Independents?

"(Also, btw, I've made a TON on the stockmarket under Bush. However, that doesn't make it right.)"

So you shit on him with one side of your face but smile all the way to the bank with the other? Nice. Let me guess, you have a lot of Point Blank stock, you war profiteer.

"I find curious the attitude that many conservatives seem to have toward folk such as Limbaugh and Coulter. You won't find me defending any comedians purporting to be "pundits". Not Rush, not Jon Stewart, whom many of you take as a serious analyst. I couldn't care less what Ann or Rush or Moore get arrested for, they are irrelevant in the real world to all but deluded madmen. They are the Jerry springers of politics.

Cowcharge

Can you guys tell me when I should expect Utopia to take effect? Now that Dems control Congress, obviously poverty will be eradicated, war will be abolished, taxes will drop, Walmart will become a big benevolent teddy bear, every corporation will raise workers' salaries and lower CEO salaries now that their altruism may finally be shown, credit card debt will disappear, gas will be 13 cents a gallon, guns will be removed from society and everyone will live in peace and harmony with no racial, sexual or religious intolerance, illegal immigration will stop because we welcome everyone with open arms, and the rich (Dems as well as Reps) will donate three quarters of their salaries to the poor, right? When? I can't wait to go back to the perfect society we had after 40 years of Dem rule!

Bev

Rush Limbaugh is now a hero of mine.
On Fox News, Claire McCaskill said that he helped her raise more money than any other individual.

In addition, she gives him credit for passing embryonic stem cell research in MO. Cheers for Rush!

btw, Independents won the election.
Check the stats. (in case you don't know what STATS are, STATS=FACTS, not opinions)

Mike

Bev, every read any of Vonneguts books? He was also a WWII combat veteran in the U.S. Army...Happy Veteran's Day Kurt where ever you are.

John

Where's the beef?

csm

Red herring alert, red herring alert! Cowcharge, you've made up a bunch of shit that supposedly is being claimed by Dems, but I've not seen it. Cite your references please!

fcc

"Can you guys tell me when I should expect Utopia to take effect?"

(LOL)

Its here Cow! Feel the freedom the DNC brings to all mankind!

For the party elitist. Here is a clue. Don't count on the government for your happiness and your hope for a bright tomorrow.

Bev

bawdy, you might enjoy this -- it's a good (meaning positive) article about the Libertarian who ran in Montana.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/11/AR2006111101004.html

BAWDYSCOT

Bev,

Glad to see your mood has changed some about voting Libertarian, this time it looked like it helped. I personally don't think this was a positive article though, the Post was laughing at him and for good reason. This guy is one of the reasons Libertarians lose. He is flaky and is tough to be taken seriously. Once we(Libertarians) have candidates who can be taken seriously things will change.

BAWDYSCOT

Oh, and not that Repblicans and Democrats can be taken seriously either, and they are not funny in a haha manner. Saw Borat this weekend. Great movie.

Bev

bawdy, I'm being honest when I say I saw the article as positive. He's a little quirky. OK, I like "a little quirky." I didn't like a stand or two of his, but oh, well, I wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

Here's today's article on the guy I would have voted for, just fyi.
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/13/us/politics/13tester.html?hp&ex=1163480400&en=0dce525b53932e52&ei=5094&partner=homepage

csm

Interesting article - and I was intrigued, too, by some of the other links on that page - particularly this one http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/16/opinion/16kuo.html?em&ex=1163826000&en=c8102cf97e8ba936&ei=5087%0A that cautions those who would put a fork in the religious right after the recent elections...

Bev

ya know, as long as the Democrats don't woo the Religious Right, I don't care about them.
I think these are the same people who use to be Democrats (i.e, bigots) and hurt them.
Yes, they vote. But they don't think.

In fact, csm, YOU are the one who has made me re-consider whether I should encourage people to simply vote. Maybe not.
So, along those same lines.

BAWDYSCOT

Bev,

Shame on you, "But they don't think." These people are some of the most thoughtful voters, we just happen not to agree with them. Many of the Christian right held their collective noses(just like myself with Kerry)this time and voted to oust corruption. I have been hearing also, csm, that the right is licking its wounds but is far from roadkill. Maybe this can be construed as a right wing abortion, er execution. They have excised the bad boys and now it is a fight for their hearts and minds. I would say this Christian right is in its teen years and who knows this might be where the third party comes from as they have the numbers, for good or bad.

Bev

bawdyscot, christian coreyd is the one who told us that rightwing christians don't think. He even explained the reasons.
However, if you think they think...
May you please be right.

Let's see whether we get the same little teeny-tiny boxes from folks, or some good original thinking here on our community blog in response to this editiorial:

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-moore17nov17,0,1843098.story?coll=la-opinion-rightrail

Bev

btw, bawdy, i'm related to a bunch of rightwing christians.
How is it that I can talk to my brother in TX on a Tuesday, my cousin in NC on a Wednesday, and come on this blog on a Thursday, only to hear the EXACT same words from a rightwing Christian?

The words YOU speak? I never hear them from anyone else. How does that happen?
